Financial Accountant (UK based)

Job Title: Financial Accountant

Department: Accounts

Report To: UK/European Financial Controller

Direct reports: N/A

Summary

This role will provide support to the UK/European Financial Controller and be comfortable deputising in their absence. The role involves fulfilling a key role in the production of management accounts for the Group's UK and European subsidiaries and preparing other ad hoc reporting. As a member of the Group Finance Team, the role will also see liaising with our international offices.

Job Purpose

To provide exceptional accounting skills and support the UK/European Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:

o Producing the Genetix Group UK/European companies management accounts, including journals and reconciliations

o Assisting with payroll and year-end returns

o Managing PAYE settlement agreements, dispensations, statutory reporting, corporation tax requirements

o Creating sales and cost reports, initiating improvements in reporting

o Reconciling, analysing and reporting on stock

o Maintaining the fixed asset register and monitoring capex

o Ad hoc project work, assisting the Financial Controller

o Deputising for the Financial Controller

The R&D group spans a wide range of scientific, software and engineering disciplines and competencies. A position is available for an experienced research/electronics engineer to lead the activities of a team developing applications for the medical, pharmaceutical and academic sectors. This role will provide a key resource with the remit to develop and define new products and research, define specifications and evaluate technologies for both new and existing designs.

Job Purpose

Provide a key role in the definition of new products, and in the specification and evaluation of technologies for both new and existing designs.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:

o Reporting to the Research Manager you will provide support in the definition of new products and with the generation of detailed design and technical specifications.

o Possess the ability to work in a methodical and structured way in the evaluation and testing of designs and new technologies.

o Responsible for the design, build and testing of prototypes, used for both market and technical evaluation in a rapid development environment.

Commercial Administration Coordinator (UK based)

At our New Milton and San Jose facilities we manufacture and distribute a diverse range of Discovery and Clinical instruments for the Cytogenetics and drug discovery sector. This range of products provides our clients with the ability to enhance their performance in research and diagnosis.

 

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:

o Process quotations in MRP for any machine, spares and R&C orders for defined country responsibilities

o Process Sales Orders received for defined country responsibilities; through despatch, invoicing and providing necessary export documentation

o Process any Letter of Credit orders and produce all documentation relevant to ensure payment is received promptly

o Liaise with production and despatch to ensure that customer orders are shipped in a timely and efficient manner

o Inform customers of progress of orders and tracking information on despatch

o Liaise with finance in San Jose to ensure prompt and correct invoicing for all Clinical RoW orders

o Coordination of information from order through to delivery, installation and payment through order review meetings. Issue minutes covering action points associated with each meeting

o Updating SLX if orders involve an engineer visit; allocate ticket to nominated personnel for ticket progression

o Updating the CRM database with assets and installation and training tickets for all system sales

o Centralisation and collation of all information relevant to an order in a single filing system

o Dealing with customer queries by e-mail or telephone

o Identifying spare parts required in the field and ensuring engineers in the field receive the correct parts on a timely basis

o Updating SLX if orders involve an engineer visit. Maintain assigned tickets, contact details and closing tickets, updating forecasts

o Distribute web generated enquiries through the world wide organisation. Liaise with the Database Executive as appropriate

o Assist in customer or distributor visits in defined country responsibilities, liaise where necessary with Reception for travel arrangements

o Provide administrative back-up support for sales group

o Fostering strong relationships with other departments allowing knowledge transfer

o Distribution of departmental mail o To assist in holiday or sickness cover for department

o To assist in answering incoming telephone calls as part of the team

o Provide back up administrative support and training of temporary administrative personnel

o To assist reception cover when rota dictates

o Nominated personnel to effectively manage the support departments workload, ensuring installation and service visits are properly scheduled

o Nominated personnel to monitor and follow through on all instruments being repaired in-house

Service Contracts - nominated personnel

 o Following up expiring warranties and contracts, ensuring proactive processes are in place to manage renewals

o Maximising revenue opportunities with support contracts. Ensuring Operating Plan revenue targets are achieved

o Working with the UK Manager in helping to establish best practice and performance standards and monitoring actual results against this; developing and implementing action plans to drive efficiency

o Updating the CRM database with warranty and future maintenance contract opportunities for all system sales

Quality Assurance Tester (UK based)

Job Title: Quality Assurance Tester

Summary

As part of the roll out of a formal Quality Management System (QMS), there is a requirement for development-independent testers to undertake Verification/Validation testing in our offices at New Milton. Since the QMS has been only recently established in New Milton, the role will also include providing advice and guidance to other departments on how best to structure and plan the testing, and of the regulatory requirements. The role will also involve a level of planning and co-ordination with other teams to ensure effective use of resources, and in ensuring that the required stage and document approvals are in place as required by our QMS.

 

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:

o Proactively help to develop and maintain the Company Quality Management System in accordance with regulatory and corporate requirements.

o Active participation in project core teams, providing test support and planning input and working with Product Specialists and Product Mangers to prioritise issues

o Pre-verification testing in order to feedback to R&D on functional aspects and general usability

o Develop Verification and Validation protocols and test documents and perform Verification and Validation testing in accordance with company procedures

o Undertake destructive and system load testing

o Co-ordinate the build of pre-production systems in preparation for Verification and Validation

o Liaise with Product Specialists regarding feedback from Beta Test Sites

o Reviewing development outputs (requirements specifications, design documentation, etc.) for compliance with the Quality Management System and providing feedback

o Liaise with Document Control regarding timely submission of documents for review and approval and for preparation of stage exits

o Develop a strong working knowledge of all New Milton products

o Ability to work across sites in the Genetix group in testing/planning and managing test activities preferred but not essential.

Customer Support Engineer (UK based)

Job Title: Customer Support Engineer

Department: Customer Support

Report To: Customer Support Manager (RoW)

Direct reports: None Location: New Milton based but with extensive international travel

 

Summary

The role will focus on providing service and support across the Rest of World (RoW) region and across the range of current and future Genetix products. The main activities are system installations, preventative maintenance, remedial maintenance and remote support via email and telephone. Other tasks include system upgrades, service reports and database updates. The role involves significant national and international travel sometimes for periods of up to three to four weeks. Job Purpose To provide exceptional customer service and support at all levels and on all products to our internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities:

o Installation of Genetix Instruments, including:

o Supervise the unpacking and placement of instruments at customer sites.

o Perform the installation of equipment and verify correct operation. This will require a knowledge of electronics, mechanical adjustment, optics and software based applications.

o Provide application training such that Genetix customers have a full understanding and confidence in the use of the equipment.

o Service and support of Genetix Instruments, including:

o Provide high quality technical troubleshooting and applications support by phone or email.

o Provide on-site service to repair any system malfunction

o Provide, and organize schedules for preventative maintenance visits

o Administration of support activities including

o Completion of service and installation reports

o Prompt updating of CRM database

o Perform product demonstrations as requested by the sales team for prospective customers. Prepare the demonstration equipment and ensure it is in proper working order before performing the demonstration. Demonstrations will be tailored to the interests of the customer.

o Comply with all company rules, guidelines, SOP’s and management direction.

It provides product demonstrations to support the commercial organisation as well as structured training programmes for customers, distributors and our own staff. As part of our expansion program, we are looking for an Application Specialist to take a key role primarily in the Clinical area.

 

Job Purpose: To provide leading-edge specialist application support, demonstrations and training to our distributors and their customers at all levels with particular emphasis on Genetix’s clinical applications portfolio.
